What are the rules of composing music? I have been creating both classical music and also dance music with?

Some software lets you mix music and other software lets you write notes as sheet music.

I find it easy to create music but I am hesitant - I am asking myself what are the no-no's?

I cannot read music very well but seem to be able to put a tune together (Even though I do not really know why or how)
